Background

Shawna Wells had the love of horses from a very young age and has now been riding for 14 years. After high school she participated in equine-related internships and working student programs in Hawaii, Calgary and Pennsylvania.

In 2003 she had the amazing opportunity to work as a groom at Spruce Meadows. Her duties included many aspects of caring for the horses Eg. Grooming, tacking/un tacking, warm up and cool down ect. “It was amazing to be riding in the warm up ring with riders such as Ian Miller, Beth Underhill, Richard Spooner, Beezie Madden and MANY more…” ~ Shawna Wells

When Shawna moved back home she was hired on to work for Haven Acres Canadians in Port Alberni where she trained and showed their horses for almost 2 years. Training many horses from weanlings to aged mares as well as starting colts. She has an extensive show background in both AQHA and Canadian Show Circuits in English and Western disciplines.

She then had the pleasure to train with Will Clinging for a few weeks at his farm up in Merritt, BC. While there she learned a lot about Natural Horsemanship and working with problem horses.
